Walking on water

Our Men’s Innovation Group, together with members of our Merry Widows Project, are undertaking Torbay Local Heritage project, ‘Walking on Water’.

Currently they are busy collecting local people’s memories of Fleet Walk whose 1980s Shopping Centre was constructed over the River Fleet in Torquay, Devon, UK.
This project is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund via Torbay Council.

The Creativity Conference will take place May 18-21, 2023 on the campus of Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon. The conference can also be accessed remotely through their conference app, Whova.
Presentations for this year have not yet been announced but will cover a wide variety of academic specialties and working professionals will be able to participate in applied workshops featuring hands-on activities for developing and using creativity in the workplace. Examples of previous presentations include: “Fostering Creativity Through Virtual Environments”, “Attitudes toward creative people and innovators”, and “Rumination and Reflection During Art-Making”.
The conference will provide a wealth of information for those who study the science of creativity, seek to leverage research on creative thinking, or simply consider themselves to be creative.

Registration will be opening soon for CPSI Conference 2022, taking place June 26-30. First time attendees will learn practical skills and tools to help access their creativity and solve problems more effectively, both at work and at home. Returnees will continue to focus on the industry’s most pressing issues. CPSI offers a refreshed sense of purpose, enlightened perspectives, a community of like-minded individuals, and the freedom to explore new ideas. #creativity #innovation #leadership #career #conference #CreativeProblemSolving

E Paul Torrance tribute book

This book, edited by Fredericka K Reisman, comprises a valuable series of insights into the life and work of E Paul Torrance and his incredible contribution to creativity education and development. In the preface, James Ogunleye describes him as ‘One man whose passion, interest, teaching and research on creativity towered above the rest of us like a colossus’.

The various chapters comprise as series of unique accounts of Paul Torrance’s achievements illustrated by personal memories of him as an individual – this great and humble man.

We are grateful to James Ogunleye for allowing us to include a link to this book in our e-journal. To read the book for free as a pdf click here.
